I applied for an internship (although the description said writing articles not writing obituaries…………..lolz.) and didn't get it. I'm not heartbroken, really, at all because so many new opportunities have come my way that I can seize specifically because now I will have the time to do other things whereas the internship would have put me in more of a time crunch. This week, I'm writing an article profiling the New York Fashion Week 2014!! I sent emails asking questions to various contacts who are actually attending/partaking in the revered show, and one girl was a total lifesaver and gave me information a plenty! That amount of bountiful info should really save the article, and create an aura of "insider status" with awesome sneak peeks into the lives of the well-dressed and classy. I asked the arts editor if I can have my own fashion column in the paper and he said that he's really on board with my proposal and that he'll talk amongst staff and let me know if there will be physical room in the paper for it! *happydance* Wahoo!
Also tonight I decided to join the literary magazine at my college and now I'm in charge of creating and then running a blog for the mag!!!!!! So all in all, a fruitful day.
Because I'm missing one credit (after this semester, I will have 63 instead of 64 credits), I am going to take a course (or two, because hey! extra credits are extra credits, and I will certainly take them!!) at my local community college. I'd love to take philosophy (still gotta fulfill that requirement *Sigh*) or a drawing course or an art history course or something that I'd probably never take here at my college but still have great interest in or know literally nothing about.
Also, I haven't made any recent sales with my Chloe + Isabel jewelry… which worries me. I'd really like to get back into sales, but I'm afraid that the jewelry may be too expensive for college students on a budget. Still, I'm going to plan a party, perhaps for after we all get back from spring break and figure out a way to collaborate with some of the clubs I'm a part of (perhaps the fashion magazine!?) to try to get started once again.
Additionally, I'm toying with the idea of minoring in Italian. I really do love Italian so much, and it gives me a bit of a respite from straight-up English (even though straight-up English sounds like a dream to me, sooo…) If I do minor in Italian, then I will study abroad in my spring semester of next year. But, if I don't minor (read: if I don't perform all too well on my test on Friday) in Italian, then I won't study abroad and will focus entirely on English. Either way, I'm excited about the future!!
Until Next Time,
xx BAS
